Choosing your Mykonos neighbourhood
Mykonos is a small island, but where you stay shapes your holiday. Our collection is spread across seven areas, each with its own character. Mykonos Town (Chora) puts you within reach of the windmills, Little Venice and the island’s best-known restaurants and boutiques, ideal if you want to walk to dinner. Tourlos, just north of town near the new port, looks west across the bay towards the sunset and is a short drive from the centre. Agia Sofia offers elevated positions close to town, with views over Mykonos Town and the Aegean. Kanalia is a hillside area just outside town with wide sea views and quick access to the centre. Aleomandra, on the south-west coast, is well placed for the beaches of Ornos and Agios Ioannis and for evening sunsets. Kalafatis, on the east coast, is quieter and centred on one of the island’s longest sandy beaches. Ftelia, on the north coast near Ano Mera, is known for its open bay and for wind and kite sports.
Beaches worth knowing
Mykonos has a beach for every mood. The south coast is the most sheltered, with Psarou, Platis Gialos, Ornos and Agios Ioannis suited to families and long lunches, and Paradise, Super Paradise and Elia known for a livelier atmosphere. Kalafatis and Agrari offer more space on the south-east, while north-coast beaches such as Ftelia, Panormos and Agios Sostis feel wilder and quieter. We are happy to suggest beach clubs and tavernas that match your group.
When to visit
The villa season runs from May to October. June and September are many guests’ favourite months, with warm seas, long evenings and a calmer pace than the peak weeks of July and August, when the island is at its busiest and the summer meltemi wind can be strong. May and October are quieter and well suited to relaxed stays and walking.
Getting to Mykonos
Mykonos Airport receives seasonal direct flights from many European cities, with year-round connections via Athens, a flight of under an hour. Ferries and fast boats run from the Athens ports of Piraeus and Rafina, and connect Mykonos with other Cyclades islands in season. We can meet you on arrival and arrange a private transfer to your villa, or a helicopter transfer if you prefer.
Planning your villa stay
The most popular weeks in July and August are often reserved well in advance, so it helps to share your dates early. When you enquire, let us know how many guests are travelling, how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need, whether you would like to be within walking distance of town or close to a particular beach, and any must-haves such as a heated pool, a gym or space to host. We will check availability, confirm each villa’s details and help you compare options side by side before you decide.
